Therapies/ Help With

Everyone experiences times in their life that can be difficult to cope with. I can offer you a space to talk through issues that may feel overwhelming or confusing without fear of being judged.

Life can be wonderful. So often though we are slowed down by its complications. At Endeavour, you can get help to understand the difficulties, gain relief and learn new skills to help you to cope and to have a fulfilling future.  I offer a completely holistic approach to emotional well-being by offering:

Integrative Counselling - is a combined approach to psychotherapy that brings together different elements of specific psychotherapies, and the various tools that each one can offer to you as the client. I take the view that there is no single approach that can treat each client in all situations so bringing in aspects from other models of psychotherapy helps the client to achieve the changes they would like to make.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (tools) mostly focuses on changing your present-day behaviour to improve your moods and ability to cope. It focuses on the connection between thought, emotions, and actions.

Mindfulness is also increasingly used. It is a set of tools that help you be more present to what you are thinking, feeling, and experiencing right now, instead of always being caught up in worries about the past and future.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy – Dialectical behaviour therapy is an evidence-based psychotherapy that began with efforts to treat borderline personality disorder. There is evidence that DBT can be useful in treating mood disorders, suicidal ideation, and for change in behavioural patterns such as self-harm, and substance abuse.

IEMT (Integral Eye Movement Therapy) - Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) is a developing area of rapid therapeutic change work that explores the area of undesired emotions and our ways of being. Unlike many psychological therapeutic processes, IEMT does not require you to disclose lots of details about your experience or give details about troublesome events. It is in effect a “secret therapy”. Disclosure is not required and your secrets remain secret.

Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) - is an emerging technology within health care attracting interest and investment, particularly within primary care. NLP is a communication framework using techniques to understand and facilitate change in thinking and behaviour.

Which approaches I use, and in what order, depending on you and what your issues and challenges are.
